Non DSP Business CD - No Sound
 

I have a 2001 4.4 with the non dsp, non nav, busness cd stereo system. Everything appears to be working fine AM/FM, CD player, etc. but there is no sound. It is like there is a mute button on or something. I tried turning it off and on, turning off the car then restarting. Still nothing. Any ideas?

Try to open up your Radio, there was a link about this, You wanna check if all wires is connected well. If there is no sound, check your amp at the back if the AMp is connected well. Check all connections. Cool

Was any work performed on the car audio or electrical-wise? Or did the radio just stop all on its own?

The radio just stopped working on it's own.

I unplugged the amp and noticed that the connections had a fair amount of buildup on them. It looked like the buildup on a battery terminal. I cleaned them up (best I could) with some WD40 and plugged it back in, still no luck. All related fuses checked out OK as well.

I guess I'll have to make an appointment at the service dept. I'm going nuts driving around in silence.

The dealer said that the amp (actually the "amp"" in the rear is the radio too, the dash is just a dislpay) was dead and a new one has been ordered. Hopefully they are correct and the problem will be solved.
