ice>Link causing TV to MUTE

Hi All,
I got my ice>Link fitted last weekend, very happy with all controls, text display etc.
However, since it was fitted, my TV sound has gone. :thumbdown When I search for a channel, it quickly flashes MUTE on the screen.
I've checked the manual and it states that it should only do this if the reception is very bad to prevent a fuzzy sound. The picture is good though and it happens in every location!
Has anyone experienced this or got any ideas on what to try to fix? I guess I may need to ask Dension also.
Thanks!

This would be the first I've heard of this one. Then again, overseas uses a slight different kit than the US-ice>Link Plus kits. I suspect that is where the problem lies.

I would recommend using the CD Changer dedicated wiring harness rather than the R40 Quadlock. We can provide this harness if needed.

I lost the TV select option when I pluged the ice link in this was because I did not disconnect the battery. I have the lead that Tom sells and is much easier to connect than the standard quad lock we get here in the UK.

I am not sure the ice link is at fault here try unplugging it and see if your TV is any better.

Good Luck.

Hi,

I have just had this problem, did you find a fix?

Hi all,

I used the quadlock connector as part of the kit, and had this problem as well. I dived back into the boot (removing the wheel etc) and took a far closer look at the connector and realised there are some extra cables in the original cable that is no longer plugged in. Using a small screwdriver to remove these cables, I put them into the quadlock connector from the ICElink and hey presto got TV sound working again.

Bottom line, if you use the quadlock connector to connect the icelink, you must manually move over some individual cables from the original connector to the new one. (off the top of my head I cannot remember which ones exactly, but if anyone really wants to know PM me and I will go have a look and maybe take photos).

Correct, these are the same wires that carry over voice navigation and Bluetooth audio as well. Since we sell the trunk interface connections here in the states - we don't run into this problem.

I have the correct wires to move if anyone overseas should need assistance.
