CD changer question

Is an OEM CD changer for a 97 Z3 the same as/compatible with an X5, or any other BMW models for that matter? I'm looking to pull out and sell my CD changer on my Z3 and put in a new head unit to plug my Sirius s50 into. Thanks.

I'll clarify that it should be compatible with BMW i-bus based vehicles. The newer 5 and 7 series use the MOST bus (optical), and are not compatible. The e53 X5 is i-bus based.
