Yes you have to take out the CD player aswell, there are two small allen screws, turn them anti clockwise untill they are loose and then slightly grip again.The most difficult job was removing the 3 pins from the aux harness plug, even with a small screw driver releasing the tiny pins they were quite tight to pull out, but be gentle and it is fine,but you might not need to do this.The instuctions with the kit explain why. .Feeding the cable down to the ash tray area is easy.I will take a picture and add it here later.PM me if you need any further help.

You can add Aux input to a vehicle with nav as long as the radio module is from a 2003 or newer.

I retrofitted AUX into my 2001 by swapping in a radio module from a 2003 and it works great. The 2002 model year is easier to do because it already has the harness with the flat pin connectors. The 2000 and 2001 will require, in addition to an updated radio module, adaptor harnesses to convert the round pin connector style to the flat pin connector style.

no i mean how hard/easy would it be to remove the nav screen to get to the rear to install?

Also note that on a vehicle with nav, the radio module itself is located in the spare tire well. So you can also hook up the AUX input connector there rather than behind the nav screen, if that works better for your situation.

that would be nice but dragging the entire thing through the car i dunno my idea is to get an aux for my ipod (dont feel like getting ice link just yet)

Steve, Thanks for the pictures and tips on the install. Very nicely done, by the way :thumbup: I will attempt the install today, though, I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to drill a hole in the location that you've pictured.

My experience is that the CD player isn't as easy to remove as people think. I've loosened the screws, etc... But the trim door keeps getting in the way. I'm trying to be gentle with it, but does it all come out as one piece? What am I missing?
