10.25 inch Android head unit no sound problem
Hi all,
I installed a Chinese 10.25 inch Android 4GB 64GB headunit in my 2000 E53 X5 this weekend: The fit is OK and everything works except two things: No sound at all, it will not find any radio stations. I searched around but could not find much on how to fix this. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3300...2a474c4dn6ZbZU My X has a non DSP amp, it was running the 7'' navigation screen with 6CD changer which was probably installed after it left the factory as the screen was not bolted down at all. I have removed the CD changer and Navigation DVD unit in the back. Everything worked like it should. Untill now I tried the following things to try and get sound out of it: Unplugged steering wheel interface and plug it back in, no result Checked if fibre cable has a good connection, all good Checked all plugs in the back and made sure they are good, all good They I checked the listing and found this: https://i.imgur.com/44k7E92.png It seems like my car is missing one pin: https://i.imgur.com/xgpdjFV.png https://i.imgur.com/UhbkSVn.png Could this be my problem? What does it connect to? Sometimes I hear two quick beeps coming from the speakers but no warning on the dash, could this be a low voltage warning or something else? Any other chimes seem to have disappeared. I have bought the Resler interface with OBC license and it works great, I just bought the DSP license too but will have to wait for them to activate it. Maybe this will cure my no sound issue. I've tried the DSP license with the IBus app but no luck, I should have known this wouldn't work because I do not have DSP but wanted to try it anyways.
I just found this: https://xtrons.ibus-app.de/index.php...h_Radio-Einbau https://i.imgur.com/n3Do5d0.png Does any one know where to connect this ''apm wake up signal'' wire? |
I just fixed this problem with no sound, it's very simple, just connect a switched 12v to the white wire that goes in the amp. It's the bigger plug on the amp (the only plug if you do not have a DSP apm)

Hello SpookX5.
That looks the same as this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10-25-Andro...kAAOSw8JFebZEe How do you like it so far? Does it really do Apple CarPlay? (The eBay ad claims so..) Does the radio get good reception? Does it freeze up much? |

I really like it, sound quality improved. I don't use CarPlay, just bluetooth autoconnect to my Pixel 2XL and it works great! The reception was terrible, I could only receive 1 local station, all others just didn't work. This maybe because of my instal but I can't see what I did wrong so I bought the DAB+ USB receiver and that works OK (tested it about 2 times as I bluetooth stream all the time) It never freezes but somtimes it will not start up when the key is turned. As there are no buttons on the radio I will have to restart ignition to get it to turn on again. This happens about once in 50 start ups. Steering wheel controls work great and I use the IBus app too which is a great feature. |
