Removing "Business CD"
 

I have a 2002 X5 with the simple "Business CD" type stereo. I want to install a new (Eclipse) stereo without losing the original radio, since it controls the cluster computer. Can I remove the CD part of the factory stereo while leaving the HU? Since the new radio isn't double DIN it would seem to fit....
