What is CASBMD cable?

I'm looking for a 6 cd player for my X5. It has NAV and DSP. Some of the ebay auctions I'm looking at say I'll need a CASBMD cable, others say "fully compatabile with DSP and NAV". I've asked on this board and was told having DSP or not doesn't matter; but if so, why do so many ebay auctions specify whether it works with DSP or not?

Can someone give me a straight answer? Will Alpine CD Changer
P/N 82 11 1 469 404 or BMW CD changer P/N 82 11 0 028 760 work with DSP and NAV as is, or will I need this "CASBMD" cable? If so, where can I get it, and what is involved with hooking up this cable?

This is from one auction:
X3/X5 99-05
Required Cable: See notes (Pre-wired. Left-rear trunk. Except vehicles with GPS. Needs CASBMD cable if vehicle has DSP.)

If you don't feel this answer is straight, sorry.

I believe that cable is the coaxial digital cable.

When that cable is present or required the two L and R audio wires are missing in the 6-pin at the changer.

In SOME X5s starting in 2003, if memory serves, BMW stopped using this cable and started including the two L and R audio wires in that 6-pin.

So if your 6-pin changer connector is missing the audio lines, that would mean you need the coax.

Since I don't know the year you have, I can't say... but I'm sure someone can.
