Icelink problems, Tom anyone?

My text appears on and off, it switches between big text and little text, I'm getting delays in changing songs and there are times I cant bring up the menu. When the text is showing it wont allow me to show another screen (ie nav) before it takes over the screen. Tom, anyone?

X5Jay 03-09-2006 11:58 PM

I'm not familiar with the system, but it sounds like a loose connection to me...

I have plugged and uplugged this thing many a times, but ill check it again.

The text is a known fault. On your screen can you see the 6 disc selection ?

lionkang 03-13-2006 05:52 PM

yes, when I hit the 6, it goes to cd 6 01 but does nothing, sometimes it brings up the menu, sometimes it doesnt.

Try moving the nav knob then when you get to the right play list hold the fast forward button done on your steering wheel to select.

Big question - was the battery cables removed when the install was performed? This would cause the same sort of behavior.

I pulled the fuses, but not the battery cable.

I would recommend pulling the battery cables rather than just the fuses.

yanked the battery, and text and stuff worked momentarily, but then it still wont let me switch to my nav map without sending me right back to the radio screen. Minutes later I still have the same problems, although the 2 sec delay with track changing has dissappeared

I will need to know your current firmware version on the ice>Link.

Turn the key to the on position and select your CD Changer. Once you are in this mode, plug in the iPod to the Active Cradle or Docking cable. During the warning screen, the firmware version can be spotted by looking at the number in the top right corner of the iPod.

I will need this number before we can continue.

It's a v2.2 the most up to date version

You have the correct version, have you tried toggling the screen? This is the button next to the SELECT button that looks like 2 squares overlapping each other.

lionkang 03-16-2006 02:37 PM

yes I have, nothing appears is working.

Odd, it sounds like you have v2B1 characteristics, but you claim to have v2B2 firmware. Have you tried activating the text to the OBC cluster and seeing if you have the same issues?

lionkang 03-16-2006 04:56 PM

as of today I have no control over the ipods menus, maybe tommorrow it will return. I bought the icelink from klerk in the classifieds who purchased it from EAS 3 months ago.

v2.06 is the reason why you're having problems - it seriously needs to be updated to v2B2.

Email me directly with a copy of your post and I'll supply the firmware and instructions on how to update.

Thank you
