Why for use Video Source Module (VSM) for BMW - Core System restriction on application for for Е39 is imposed (9/2002-2003 5 Series (including M5)?
1. In what constructional difference from cars of earlier term of release?
2. At connection DVD Player or any other external source the sound turns out a stereo, and for switching video of a signal with DVD Player on IPOD the need additional button of switching of a signal, located for example,in an ashtray is necessary. I have correctly understood?

The VSM is compatible with 09/02+ vehicles, due to AUX compatibility for audio. If you have a pre 09/02 model, you can either update the radio tuner or install an ice>Link for AUX support.

Our DVD player features a trigger wire that signals the VSM to switch modes automatically with the power button on the remote. With a device like the iPod (which does not have a trigger wire) and external switch must be used to switch modes.

Correct.

1. You will need to have the newer radio tuner (09/02+) or an ice>Link installed with AUX for audio compatibility.

2. This is definitely possible with the ice>Link. :thumbup:
