Problem with new amp install
 

Last night I completed my amp install with my OEM sub box, all went well following the article here on amp install, all wire taps were good and the 12v accessory appeared to be all good.
BUT when i turned off the ignition the amp switched off but continued to hum with the fan and the blue lights that glow still illuminated.It is an Audiobahn A200T 200 w amp, I had to pull the inline fuse to finally kill the amp.
So can anyone throw any suggestions, the other issue I had was that the casing from the amp touches the steel frame it is mounted on and seems to be shorting itself out.I have attached all ground wires as should be, it seems a strange question but does the case of the amp need to be isolated from the metal bracket that i made to carry it.I have bolted the bracket to the existing rack in the rear left where the Nav would go if I had it.
The amp was operating fine re; the speakers worked and the signal was good.
Any help gratefully apreciated.

Are you using the wire that connects to pin 13 of the radio module for the turn-on?

check the remote turn-on wire again.
it sounds like u may have connected
the remote turn-on wire to a constant
power source.:dunno:

No, I used the purple/white wire that this article suggests.

It definately switches with the ignition, I checked with my voltmeter

Where will that wire be in the trunk area, is it part of the main wire loom that comes from the amp.I see it states that pin 13 is a white wire.

On the US version, the radio module is in the back by the battery.

Assuming he has navigation, this is true. Not so if his vehicle isn't nav-equipped, which his original post seems to imply.

Steve, sounds like the remote turn-on lead is very suspect as everyone has suggested here. If I remember correctly, you don't have NAV or DSP, which is exactly like my setup...but I don't recall using that purple/white lead as remote turn-on. I used the solid white lead that is part of the main wire loom that comes from the OEM amp. I know that solid white lead is labeled as ANTENNA in the wiring diagram, but it does get +12V whenever the OEM amp is turned on in all modes (radio/CD/CD Changer/AUX, etc...) and it falls to ground level when the OEM amp is turned off.

It is possible that if you don't ground things correctly, the voltage of the turn-on lead will have no meaning (make sure you ground your voltmeter to the same place that you think your amp is grounded to get proper reading).
