Question about adding a Subwoofer to stock stereo
Hi!
I saw the "How to add a amp to your stock amp" guide on the first page and I have a question. "My" stereo guy recomended me to buy a special cable to seperate the signals, don't know witch cable. And he said that he tought that the bas would be a bit after the rest of the speakers if I wired it like that. Do you guys have any experience? Do I need that cable or does it work just fine to do it like the How to guide? Hope you understand my question. |

If you are asking if there will be a delay in the bass, no there will not.
I've tried wiring it to low-level (pre-amp) and high level (post-amp) and it works fine both ways. No signal processor or crossover is required to add a simple amp and sub to the factory system. If there is any delay, it is going to be below the 10 millisecond range which our ears cannot detect anyway. Why don't you try it and see? You can always add your special cable later if you feel you need it, but you won't. Good luck. |
I agree with NCX, there is no special cable needed. Do you have the stock subwoofer? If so, that would make it easier in a way.
