Infinity Basslink Issue

I have the 2005 X5 and I bought and now want to install the Infinity basslink with the special harness from Bavauto. My dealer told me it would void my electrical warranty. Should I be worried that the amp would cause a problem with the electricals on my X5?

If you breath on your X5 and tell the dealer about it it will void your warranty. (just kidding of course) On the for real side the less you tell them about what you do to modify your X the better off you will be. I'm sure someone will provide you with the correct guidence.

I've run that sub since I bought the X, 40K miles later, no problems.

Easiest install ever.

Literally:

1 - open panel on left side in hatch.
2 - disconnect plug
3 - connect subwoofer plug
4 - reconnect main plug
5 - done

Great, went ahead with the install and now the entire system trips when the bass sounds. I have to turn the gain way down for the system not to trip. Any views? Remeber I am using the harness provided by Bavauto.

Do you have a DSP system?

MAAQ 05-01-2006 07:12 AM

Yes, I do have DSP and the harness is plugged right in. I further discovered that the radio works perfectly, great bass, but the CD changer seems to be cutting off with the bass. I am certain it is not skipping because of the vibrations from the bass, it is simply that the changer trips when the sub calls for bass. It seems to be a power issue. Any ideas?

Hmm. At this point I would call Infinity and ask if they have heard of this issue. You should have no problem with the setup you're running.

I am thinking that maybe I have the settings too high. What are the settings on your basslink?
