Dice vs Ice

Hey ladies and gents. Im so glad I stumbled upon this website. I joined immediatley after reading some of the valuable info regarding the best thing on 4 wheels! Now on to the question...

Has anyone tried or had any expeireince with the ipod integration kit from Dice electronics? I think its fairly new and before I give them my hard earned 159 bucks I wanted to see what you think. European Auto Source had a good comparison with the Dension Ice>Link Plus http://www.europeanautosource.com/ipod_matrix.php but it would still be helpful if someone had hands on. I have just the single disc player without DSP.

Interestingly enough I already purchased the ipod connector from the BMW dealership and have a scheduled install date of May 15. Think I will cancell until I fiqure out the best between the Dice and the Ice. At least both of these will allow me to see the text through my stereo.

Any input would be tremendous!
DJ

My best recommendation is you have to decide what you want/need. As Tom says:

We have a comparison chart on our website as well:

If you need the Aux compatability, get the DICE. If you don't, and you'd like it right away, get the Ice>Link.

Good luck with your decision, there's lots of people here that will help if you need it!

Remember w/ the OEM aux. you will not be able to control the iPod through the steering wheel controls, only volume. I would recomend the Denison. I am getting a Denison within the next couple of weeks.

dice

i currently have the ice link plus , and I think I will uprade to the dice, i think the aux option gives me more flexibility over the bmw aux which i am not pleased with. plus the ability to control the ipod clickwheel is a bonus

You can use the Ice>Link Plus and the iPod clickwheel at the same time, if desired. You do lose the ID3 tags on the display, though.

yeah but i am not willing to lose the id tag and the main reason for the dice upgrade is an alternate Aux source for my dvd audio cause the bmw version just plain sucks in my opinion.

I get the ID3 tags on my BMW business radio with my iceLink. I thought the ID3 tags also show on the nav screen. Isn't it a firmware update to enables the ID3 tags to appear?

He's referring to switching the ice>Link to "iPod UI" mode. This allows clickwheel navigation but at the cost of disabling your ID3 text.
