Blown DSP speakers?
 

Anyone here blow out any of the DSP speakers?

sometimes when I turn the volume up the speakers make a loud scratching noise and I quickly turn the volume down. Im afraid I might be messing up my speakers.

Yes i get this to and i dont knwo if there blown or if the computer is liek messing up its reely annoying and there are other threads about it :(

Your speakers are probably not blown, but it is hard to say that they are not damaged in someway with out hearing them. This problem plagues those of us who like to listen to music that puts greater demands on the system then it was designed for.

Basically, I am not sure if the fault lies in the quality of the speaker or the amplifier. The speakers lack the ability to reproduce certain sound frequencies. This could be because the signal from the amplifier becomes distorted at a given volume, or the speaker’s inability to reproduce a given tone. It’s hard to say without breaking the entire system down. As a test you can listen to a jazz CD at the same volume, and see if the result is the same, make sure the DSP is turned off. This is why I have decided to 86 the OEM system, and loss the DSP.

Not sure if this helps. I just started my audio up grade and I doing it all by my lone some. I will post the DIY once I have collected all of the components.

Sounds like a bad ground
