Wiring Question

Does anyone know what the number 9 - 10 - 11 pins are in this connector. Trying to hook up Eclipse AVN5435 in 01 X5 with out factory navigation.

Thanks, Jeff

9 / White-Yellow bands / I-bus?
10 / White-Brown / Mute from phone?
11 / White-Green / ?

This is what it shows. There are question marks after these 3 pins. I am pretty sure that 9 is I-Bus but 10 and 11 I am currious about.

10 is the lead from the phone system that mutes the radio when a phone call is made/received.

11 is not used, from what I recall.

I don't believe there is a "speed pulse" signal. The i-bus provides this functionality.

Thanks, I thing my nav will read the i-bus on pin 9 to get the pulse signal, I believe I read where it would anyway.

Negative, Ghost Rider.

The ECL speed pulse input measures square wave pulses - NOT BMW's proprietary data bus. You either need a CAN speed pulse adapter module (The X5 also has speed data on the CAN bus) or the magnet-on-the-wheel speed pulse generator kit.

Jpoole, On the flat pin radios pin #11 is for the phone mute circuit. This is where the radio picks up the phone ringer and is part of the muting circuit.

use the WDS to find the right wire in the harness to the speedo cluster and you'll be in business very easily.

do a search on the online WDS for speedometer

Thanks, DREX. I can't get the WDS to work for me. Searches don't come back with anything.
