There Is an illumination of buttons and rings iDrive on light-emitting diodes of BMW Itself

Why make life complicated :dunno:

Very cool. Great work. In general, I do like the new class of controllers like these (Audi MMI, BMW iDrive, and MB COMMAND). These keep you from reaching across the car to the dash, so that you can change the functions from more relaxed driver position. The thing that you really did well is the way you use the MODE buttons like on Audi's MMI. The MMI is freakin' awesome-- the absolute best of these controller types.

Honestly, the only people who complainn about iDrive are folks who do not own the cars. I have heard few owners actually complain about iDrive. To the contrary, owners and enthusiasts like iDrive.

I will be changing the wood in my e39 and while I have the center console off, I would really like to do this. Any updates? When will this be available? I have plenty of interest so if you need a certain amount of people it can be had. pm when this will be available and how is installation done? Do I need to open my Nav? where does it connect to the Nav?

ak_uk 10-29-2007 03:48 AM

Viperian86 11-03-2007 06:58 PM

Any details yet? Gren hasn't answered my pm's. Maybe i'm being too annoying, sorry about that:dunno: . I am taking my interior out of my car and am holding off for this. Install all at once would be ideal:thumbup:.

Viperian86 01-31-2008 07:56 PM

So no chance you'll make them anymore? What about providing details as to how it was done so we can try to make one on our own if you aren't going to make them?

X5 Meister 03-19-2009 07:59 AM

If you really want it, and I think no one on the entire board will understand why, go to their website and buy it. Don't wait around for the guy to answer e-mails at a rate of 2 per year.

Scotes 03-19-2009 11:04 AM

Because you can't just buy it from his website... it's not set up as a storefront.

X5 Meister 03-19-2009 11:16 AM

Yeah I know, doesn't it seem a little fishy to you.
