Wiring Diagram Question!

1 Attachment(s)
I am looking for the front speaker lines from the radio to the DSP amp so I can tap in to get pre-amp signal as suggested by TJJ and Ken. I got this picture on one of the postings by AUS over the Bimmer forum (see attached). This picture is the pix of the radio module behind the battery.
I also got a wiring diagram from Scottdale BMW that shows:

RADLV+: Yellow/Red
RADLV-: Brown/Orange
RADRV+: Blue/Red
RADRV-: Brown/Orange

You can see all four of these wires in the picture. The red and black lines are the ones that AUS and his buddy were testing out the rear channels. In the diagram, these two RADLV/RADRV lines lead to the twelve speakers DSP stereo configuration (which what I have). I suspect that these RADLV/RADRV lines are the front speaker lines that I am looking for but I just want verify before I touch anything. Thank you, folks.

Justin.

You have the wires correct. Here is your confirmation, plus the pin locations on the main radio plug.

Pin 2 Blue with Red Stripe: Right Front +
Pin 3 Yellow with Red Stripe: Left Front +
Pin 6 Brown with Orange Stripe: Right Front -
Pin 7 Brown with Orange Stripe: Left Front -

However, you will probably run into another problem. When the radio senses a DSP amp in the car, it changes its behavior from what a normal car radio does. It feeds full volume, line level signals to the amp. All of the volume, balance, and fader level adjustments occur within the DSP amp and not the radio. So, anything you connect to those audio feeds will blast at full volume.

Thank you for the info, Brian. I will disable the DSP the way Ken (from Avincar) did by unplugging the DSP amp, disconnecting battery and reconnecting battery, the DSP option will disappear. Then tap into these front line speakers using male to 2 female RCA cable, plug these RCA cable into a Ground Loop Isolator (I use Jensen ISOMAX-CI2RR as recommended by Ken) and I have my full-range pre-amp output. According to Ken, the volume, balance and steering wheel controls are still usable with this method.

Justin.
