Subwoofer question

I am currently working on a purchase for a new subwoofer to add to my factory stereo. I do not have dsp. I went to an audio store, and the guy recommended 1 12" Punch sub. I do not remember the amp, he recommended, but total with all wires, enclosure box, amp and install was $350. Is a good deal?

good deal IMO

That is what i was thinking. It is a stage one-300watt sub. There is a new one a stage 2 but it is $50 more.

Thats reasonable.
Does it include install?

SilverBullet 11-24-2006 11:42 PM

yes, that also includes install. They are advertising a $1 install. However, this does not include sales tax, and the optional warranty for the sub and amp. My final total would be $411.

Installing a sub and amp in an X5 with no DSP is extremely simple. Any shop should be able to do it.
Don't buy the warranty. Waste of money. I use to work in car audio sales.
Only buy warranty on big ticket items that are costly to repair such as rear projection tvs.

$1 install? NOOOOOO! That's AUDIO EXPRESS! Don't go there. Find someone else, please.

What is wrong with them?

Come on El Duderino.... even an untrained monkey with korean instructions can add an amp and sub.
Battery/signal and remote turn on are all in the back, you dont even have to remove panels.
Are these guys that bad???
The only problem I can think of might be mounting the amp properly.
