IPod Integration

I have just had my CDC replaced under warranty. The unit the dealer put in is older that the original one! I was hoping to get the latest version that plays Mp3. At least I have an alternative to just the radio. I have decided to use my IPod Video but am totally confused as to which is the best method to integrate. I have got it down to 2. The recently introduced Ipod unit from BMW and the Dension Icelink. Can some one please give me their thoughts/observations. The BMW Ipod unit is around £195 plus 1.5 hours fitting. I am not sure exactly what I need from Dension - Ice>link plus and Gateway 300? I have Nav and no DSP.

Thanks

The ice>Link Plus was discontinued here in the states and replaced with the DICE, which is a much more stable system. The DICE performs the same core functions as the ice>Link (steering wheel control, charging and text display) and allows the iPod to remain unlocked and has an integrated AUX port.

Since you have a standard system, this is the kit you would need:

Let me know if you have any further questions.

The ice->Link has pretty much been replaced in the UK too, by the Gateway 300. This is the same as the ice->Link plus but with the addition of USB support (for memory keys etc. with MP3 files etc.).

However, if you have Nav I'd quite strongly advise against the ice->Link or Gateway 300/400 solutions. The Text scrolls on the display, but continually changes between a large and small font with is very distracting.

Check out the Intravee www.intravention.co.uk for a quality British solution!
