Nice comparison and install pics! So how does it compare to your previous Sub setup?

I currently have a 12" MB Quart Premium Sub powered by a 250/1 JL Amp and very happy with it but it takes up space which is why I'm going to give the stealthbox a try...

Thanks. Well, I have actually had three different subs and amps in there and they all sounded very different. This is the first sealed enclosure I have used and it is what I will be sticking with. As you know, sealed enclosures tend to have tighter and more controlled bass, and less output compared to a similar ported enclosure on the same power.

It sounds very good to me at low or high volume and plays down low. The 10W1v2 driver is rated at 84dB spl; not sure what it is with the enclosure, but it is close to that. In any case, it takes real power to get significant output from this enclosure. I was not thrilled with the output my 130x1x4 ohm amp was providing so I swapped it out for a 330x1 and it rocks (I limit output to about 75% of max). It still won't hit as nearly as hard as my ported 10" did, but it sounds good and I am thrilled now that I have my full trunk space again. It far outclasses everything in OEM system. Your JL amp would rock this box fine but nothing like a MB Quart 12 in a big enclosure. IMO, this is a great solution for hiding your sub without sacrificing quality bass. I'm pleased.

edit/additional comment: The OEM sub location is not the best for output. By moving the stealthbox out on to the load floor, there was significantly more bass. However, the whole point of the stealthbox is to be hidden, not maximize SPL in the car. I just wanted to emphasize the point that while there is plenty of available bass from this enclosure, a 10W1v2 in a less-than-ideal location, in a small sealed enclosure, is not going to rattle other cars as you drive by. People looking for bone-rattling ghetto-bass need to pass on this.

Great pics Kevin. That is very informative. Very similar to what I have. 10" with a sealed enclosure at the same place.

Thanks! You inspired me a long time ago and I have been playing around with different sub configurations ever since.

Thanks Tom!

update: After a few hours of usage the sub is playing noticeably louder and lower with the same power. It definitely changed character for the better after this break-in. Love it.
