Pinouts For 2000 Dsp Amp

Ok my first question is. Is the DSP amp in a 2000 M5 the same as a 2000 X5? If so these are the pin outs for the connectors on the DSP amp. It would be great if someone could varify that they are the same.

If you have a 2000 X5 with DSP you probably have the 15pins connector described in your note

Yes, the DSP amp is the exact same part for the E38, E39, and X5. They are totally interchangeable between cars; however, if did swap DSP amps, you may need to get it coded by a dealer to match the DSP amp to your car.

Anybody know ALL the wire colors?

Brian-bmw 12-18-2006 08:08 AM

The wire colors are shown on the circuit diagram view of the WDS. Click the WDS link above, and then find component A18. Unfortunately, the wire colors are not in a format that you can easily cut and past them into a note-- they are part of a graphical image. Also, they are abbreviations of the German words for the colors, so that adds a little more challenge.

Here is a table that translates the German color bbreviations to English color words.

BL = Blue
BR = Brown
GE = Yellow
GN = Green
GR = Grey
OR = Orange
RT = Red
SW = Black
TR = Transparent
VI = Violet
WS = White
