business CD
i have a non dsp head unit with the outdated cassette. if i want to replace this cassette player with the business CD, can it be done plug & play style or programming must be done? with the business CD, I can also attach the AUX for my ipod video?
any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks, Kelvin |
which AUX are you talking about? the one that goes in the glove compartment or the one in the rear console under the vents?
Since you're in Sinagapore, not sure if all the equipment is the same as here in the US. i though they got rid of the cassette player in the 2001 or 2002 model years. I know that the CD slot is separate from the MID unit, but not completely sure if they're just plug and play, but it would seem like it would be. |
yes the aux is the one that goes into the glove compartment. radio equipment here is the same as US. dealers here try to make more margin by including only the cassette player instead of the business CD.

okay. the switch is a simple plug and play. and you can have an AUX installed considering you have an '03.

We'll need to know the model year of your X5 to see if our PlugPak is needed or not. Here are the radios we have available for your X5:

sorry tom for the tardiness in my reply. have been busy at work recently.
ok, checked out your website but saw a few models. Which one fits my 10/03 X5? Can you confirm the part number? with this business CD, I can link the ipod as Aux? Am I able to control the ipod like DICE? |

e39/e53 BMW Business CD Upgrade - iPod/AUX/Sirius compatible http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=289 Since you have an MY04 build, you do not need our PlugPak - you already have the correct wiring. For iPod control, you will need our DICE kit: DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=268 Let me know if you have any further questions. |
Hi Tom,
Okay, I think I got the wrong ideas. I thought of replacing the cassette with the business CD and then just get the Ipod your BMW cable linking it to the business CD unit as AUX. Mainly becos I was thinking about the DICE unit but I have no one here in Singapore that will attempt to install it. Looks like I need to go down another road to link my ipod. Thanks, Kelvin |
