Just wondering what i need to retrofit a tv tuner in my car, i have the tuner but what else do i need....any list of parts would be great

We've got everything needed as a kit here on the site:

BMW TV on NAV Complete System for e53 X5
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=643

Additional options such as 2nd A/V input, TVinMOTION and reverse camera are also available.

i already have the tuner, so this does not help, do you sell just the install bits without the tuner as i have a hybrid one

so tom do you just sell the cable....i mean besides the cable what else is needed...........might go to the local stealership and ask id say

We do not offer the cable separately, but your dealer would most definitely have this part.

anyone know what parts i need or the PN

I am not sure that a factory BMW TV adapter harness exists. At least, I have never seen a part number for one. Here is a post that explains how to use a navigation adapter harness part number 61 12 8 377 436 to create a TV harness. This is the approach that most people use. It is relatively inexpensive and works great.

BMW lists a retrofit kit, nothing on individual parts:

I'm sure individual pieces are available, check with your dealer.

I do not mean to rain too heavily on the optimism, but...

If an individually available video module harness part number exists, I have never seen it in years of trolling the boards. Even Martin, the inventor (or original identifier) of a lot of this stuff, has been making VM adapters using that method versus buying ready-made adatpors from a dealer.

The same kind of goes for the Bluetooth kits. BMW makes kits with adapter harnesses, but they do not offer the adapter harnesses individually. That is why Martin and others have made BT harnesses versus folks buying them from dealers.

so where does one buy a cable like the one you mention or do i get some bits from the dealer and make one

BMW does sell the retrofit kit for the TV module (if you have the TV module already), including the wiring harness, the TV antenna (for the rear bumper) and antenna cables.

I purchased mine from Individual car consulting on ebay.de

The TV wiring harness had an official part # on it. Without trolling though the trunk I dont remember of the top of my head what the part # is on it.

I just made a TV harness three weeks ago. You can buy PN 61.12-8 377 436 from most dealers and follow the instructions on the openbmw.org site to convert it into a video harness. I think that I paid about $40 for the -436 harness from Hammersley BMW.

You could also use the retrofit kit that apw2607 references in his post. I did not know that kit exists, and it would be very handy, as it includes the antennas and antenna cables, which run about $200.
