aftermarket sub
 

Hey guys. I am looking to purchase an aftermarket sub. I want something that will hit nicely, but I do not want anything extreme, no need to rattle the car. I am looking at a 12 inch. Does the 12 inch sound good with the factory stereo system, no dsp? Or should I get 2 12 inch subs. I like the single, less space, and fits in my price range. What do you think? Thanks.:thumbup:

I have a 12 in alpine type r and I love it! Its definately not the hardest hitting sub on the market, but for the money and quality its a good sub.

I suggest going on ebay and buying the alpine type r, the alpine v-seires amp, wiring kit, and speakerwire to RCA converter, and box.

I could probably guess you can get all this for 450-550.

BTW I have a stock no dsp deck.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have checked out the sponser, and it is out of my budget. I would like to add some bass, but do not want to pay too much. I was looking at an alpine type E, I believe it was, or I was looking into the Rockford Fosgate Punch.

No prob check ebay for brand new stuff, last time i checked very good deals vs. in stores. Install isnt that bad if you have patience

I think one 12inch will be perfect from what ive read from your post. I actually have two 10inch diamond audio subs that hit nicely. I think if your put two 12's your X will be rattling all over the place because with my two 10's i have some rattling from my pano sunroof and my driver side window! Good luck with your buy!

how did u plan on powering this new sub? the sponsor's price includes everything
that u will need for the installation (amp, enclosure, sub, mounting hardware, wires, etc.).

Even one 10" rattles the heck out of my X, and gain setting on my sub amp is only set at 35%! I can't even imagine having two 10s or two 12s.

did u do the gas tank/cap mod? a lot of what rattles in the rear of the X is the
2 plastic pieces when u open ur gas door. i believe 1 is green and the other is black.
remove those 2 pieces, slap some electrical tape around them and reinsert.:thumbup:

I have tried a single 12 and a single 10. I am sticking with the single 10. The should is good, it balances with the factory system nicely. Does not take up too much room either.
