bazooka bass tube

I was thinking of buying a powered sub for my 2001 x5 and was told by many to get the bazooka bass tube. Its a 10 inch sub with amp inside of a cylider. Although many people have told me that it is great, no one that i talked to has an X5. Does anyone have this setup in their car. Do they like it and if so where did you mount it?

Hmm, take a look at the Infinity Basslink setups before you commit.

I had an old SAS tube that I threw in the spare tire well for kicks when I first got my X. I drove it with the amplified leads going to the OEM subs. It hit surprisingly hard to be hidden under the floor but it did not have great extension below 45hz, and obviously did not sound like a quality sub. That said, if loud stealth bass is your first priority, it is an option. There a lot better sounding options out there. As Wanger said... check the Basslink too.

i never had bazooka in my X, but i have had them in other vehicles. i was
satisfied w/ them. although, i replaced the woofer and used JL's, plus i was
using the non-powered version. i had a separate amp. i've had; which i don't
even know if they make anymore, their 6½" version and their 8" version. i even
played around w/ clam-shelling 2 woofers together. in the end, again, i was
satisfied w/ my results.

I currently have two 8" Bazookas in my 2004 X5 (from my previous car, they are like 13 years old). I meant them to be temporary, just to test my amp/LOC add-on connection to the stock system, but they sounded so good I left them. Laid them in back, end to end firing out to the sides (they clear the sides of the X5 by 3-4", about right). I have a 12 year old amp that gives 70 good RMS watts to each and it is so loud I have the DSP eq bass almost as low as it will go AND my amp gain almost on minimum (I think my X5 voltage is higher than 12 volts where the amp was rated, so I am probably getting more that 70 RMS watts)...I like them and they don't take up much space and the whole thing looks fairly clean. I will likely do the BSW Stage 1 upgrade, for more highs/mids, but the system is not bad at all as-is. I have the Aux input (for high res MP3) and that plus NAV/tape (for older music) is making me pretty happy. I just wish I had a bass control once in a while because they really get loud for some music (I have to turn tone bass control and eq pretty much off--)..

I have a Basslink II. Cost me $250 on ebay.
250watts RMS.

I would get that over Bazooka. Just my .02.

I would look into the JL Audio Stealth Box. It Costs more but you can not compare Basslink or SAS Bazzok to it.
