help needed...

Hi guys,
I have a non-NAV stereo system in my X5. I bought the DICE from Tom and thus had to disconnect the CD changer. In order to be able to play CD still, I recently upgraded the out-dated cassette player to the in-dash business CD unit. It was just a simple plug & play by my local car stereo installer. Since the installation, I could not get radio stations with even numbers. For eg, 95.0FM or 93.8FM etc...... So long as it is with an even number ending, the radio unit would not catch it.
Does anyone know what is wrong? How can I change it?

Appreciate any help.......
Thanks,
Kelvin

Are you set to the wrong region by any chance? US stations all end in an odd number, for example, so if you were set to Region = US you wouldn't get anything.

I'd love to tell you how to check, but unfortunately I only know how to check on NAV equipped vehicles...

You could try this...from another froum that i got via a Google.. thanks to the original author! ..no liability accepted !!! Tuner area seems to be the one you need to change...

To access the service menu in the BMW Business CD:
- turn the radio off, then on again
- press and hold M for 10 seconds
- display will show SN#nnnnnnnn
- press +/- to access settings
- press 1-6 to change settings

SN - serial number
SV - software version
signal strength level
GAL - speed sensitive loudness
DSP - n/a
TP-V - traffic program volume (non-USA feature)
display check
tuner area selection
AF - alternative frequency (non-USA feature)

indeed, the business CD was bought from a seller in the US - and thus I might have gotten the US pre-set specs.
Thanks jamesboags for the advise. I will look into it soon and let you know how i managed to get it changed back to receive both even and odd numbered stations.
Cheers,
Kelvin
