Door Speaker size question

Will 6.5 inch round speakers fit as replacements for our current door speakers (E53 no premium sound)? I know BSW is offering stage1 replacement speakers but I'd like to explore other options as well. Thanks

.

6.5" will fit on both front and rear doors, i have the ALPINE-SPX-F177R (pushing 90 RMS each door) on my rears and the DLS UR6i's on my fronts (pushing 280 RMS each door).

Thanks Hiten50. Alpine was one of choices. Was there a big improvement in sound?

Massive, I powering the Aplines with a Genesis Stereo 100
and the front DLS UR6i's are powered by a Genesis 4 Channel (Bridged)

And you will see a big difference just changing the speakers and leaving the factory amp.

BSW's systems are great for those that don't feel comfortable doing this themselves and need some guidance, but if you have any experience doing car audio, the speaker swap is an easy DIY.

I swapped out my fronts with MB Quart components (same ones BSW used to use) and it made a world of difference. The big difference was I paid about $90 for the speakers!!

X5Dawg,
I wish I had experience in installing speakers. But Nada. So its really a first. But then again so is the steering wheel install, angel eyes, etc. I just can't stand the inferior sound of the stock X speakers:confused:

Just curious but don't you have to replace the mid range to with the 2.5 BSW, to get the same system as BSW
