Please Help - How to Code a DSP Amplifier

Hi,

I have installed a new DSP Amplifier(uncoded), woofer and harness. Booked my car in at local BMW garage Phoenix Kirkcaldy to have the Amp coded to the car. They needed to email BMW UK as how to go about coding it. Got reply back they don't have time figure it out and told BMW Kircaldy to contact area Technical adviser.

I have checked through X5 World forums and found a few guy's mentioning about recoding their Amp.

Does anybody know any BMW Technician that know how to code the AMP to my car, It shows on the screen DSP, but no sound from radio, cd changer or sat nav. Have sound from voice control and bluetooth phone.

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Cheers Andy

Check over on e38.org. There are probably five write-ups on how to do it yourself.

I've always sent customers to the dealer, but obviously that's not working for you.

Best of luck!

Never heard of any such thing - coding a Nav computer, yes, but never anything about coding a DSP amp.

You might also send KiwiJochen a PM and ask him - he invented NavCoder so if anyone would know it is him...

Try a different dealer, there are about 6 different codes on factory amps we're seen on used units swapping back and forth, but an experienced dealer will know what to do to get you up and running.

A GT1 programmer is needed, either your local BMW dealer or an independent technician will have this.
