IceLink Plus is now operating as it should

I loaded the latest Dension firmware (version DB2) over the weekend on my 16:9 system with the new generation radio module (circa 2003). The result is no more occasional dropping back to radio, and the ID3 text display is better than ever.

Kudos to Dension USA for their responsiveness on continually tuning the performance, and to Tom G. (formerly of Dension) for his continued help and support

I put it up here on X5world for a short time. Please note that this version is only for BMW's with the 16:9 nav screen and the next generation radio module.

Are you displaying tags on the Nav screen? I am wondering if the incessant flipping back to the screen when the Nav or any other screen is on has stopped.

Thanks.

Larry

Yes, I have it now on the nav screen. They appear to have fixed the flipping issue. Now it stays on nav if that's the screen you are on. When you put it on the radio screen it stays on that with the ID3 tags displayed.

That's what I call superior service  Thanks for posting this info Jeff.

Thanks Jeff. Did they email the firmware directly to you? I assume they did, I am doubting it is posted on their site. And who did you get it from since Tom is no longer there? Lastly, were the tags packed in the update files or was that a seperate load process like it has been previously?

Thanks.

I got the updated firmware courtesy of Tom via email. It's a zipped file and contains the install instructions within the zip file. Easy to update (I'm still impressed and amazed at the ingenuity of how Dension does the firmware updates by embedding the code in a series of MP3 files that play like songs on the iPod. It's poetry in motion!! )

Turning song tags on and off can now be done right from the steering wheel/radio controls.

Can I get it also???

Hello, I would be greatly appreciated if you would also forward the file. I posted a ticket with Dension 3 weeks ago about this matter with no response to-date...

Thx!!!
