From Janixworld.com "One minor issue with the TVonNAV module was that I never received a 'user guide' and had to figure out on my own how to select an alternate audio source etc. In the end it's very easy and all you to do is to select the audio source before switching to 'Television' and once you are in Television mode you use the '<>' button to activate the alternate audio source (which by the way could also be the CD Changer, tape or Radio). You can also use the clock sign to display the time on your TV screen"
Does not work for me, he seams to have diferent module not dietz 1270 |
Am i jumping to conclusions or do you from EAS promice to deliver one thing and end up delivering something else, and dont give any support or explanation what so ever ?,
If i wanted a simple tv in motion i would have paid kiwi for navcoder not you 3x the money for the cable |

navcoder will require an ibus interface, which is an additional cost. |

It has been disscused here alot that bmw tv tuner is mono and that some tv in motion module will let you select AUX as audio source, that is why i asked. and you answerd yes, and then you gave me a link to janix where he states exactly that he can use aux as audio input with his tv in motion module, but i guess he did not buy his from you BTW. Navcoder €20 i-bus €35 total €55 with worldwide shiping. I paid $130 + shiping to Europe you do the math + i cant use your cable for anything else, or maybe you wanna state that i can ? |

European Auto Source is a respected vendor on this forum and has historically proven to be very accurate in describing products here and on their website. The quote you copied from janixworld.com is discussing the TVonNAV system, not a Dietz module. They are completely different. You can, however, use an aux input kit like Jan and many of us use. Very simple and inexpensive for stereo audio. I suggest you start a new thread and explain your current setup and exactly what you are trying to accomplish. The members here will help you find a solution. It is simple to add stereo audio from DVD, Ipod/Mp3 player, Sirius/XM, laptop, or whatever. Good luck ;) |
E5M1R , I think you may be getting mixed up with the leads?
You can get a lead that does allow audio in and the ability to change audio sources while watching TV but its twice the price of the EAS lead. http://www.toysinyourcar.com/acatalog/bmw_adv_tvim.html Hope this helps. |

Here it goes again as clear as i can. First of all i mean no dissripect, but i feel some comming twords me so therfor the attitude :) I wanted a tv in motion cable so i can 1 enable tv in motion so i can use AV input to connect DVD 2 so i can get DVD sound in stereo trough AUX input 1 is all done, the cable provided does it's job 2 is no go, there is no way to watch AV channel and feed audio from AUX cable. Maybe i was not clear when i asked Tom about this, but his answer was Yes you can get audio in stereo instead of mono. So i figured he knew what i was talking about, and what he was talking about Please let me qoute Tom and my sellf regarding this. I said : Wil your tv in motion cable alow me to get sound trough aux imput? Tom Responded: The TVinMOTION module does not affect sound, you will need a separate AUX cable for this I clerified my question: I know that, what i ment is can i use aux as audio source Top replyed: Sure you can - this will provide the audio in stereo instead of Mono As tv module and AV input will provide sound in Mono if there is no alternative way, i figured that tv in motion module sold by tom wil support audio trough AUX, since that is the only way to get it in stereo, and tom said that it would. I have no doubt that EAS is respected member, but i feal that he/thay made a mistake, the least they can do is say, sorry i was wrong. The reason i coppied text from JanixWorld was that i got the link from tom as a how to, he suggested that i should read and try that, but since the module provided does not support switching audio source while watching tv the link is useless, i just tried to point that out. I will be more then thankfull if any one can help me get DVD sound in stereo while watching movie as you suggest, but i doubt that that is possible with module provided by EAS. My setup is as folows. OEM NAV with MKIV. DSP, Hybrid tuner, Harddrive based media player with 80GB hdd, with stereo and digital audio out, and digital and analouge TV out. and offcourse Dietz 1270. |
1270 TV in Motion interface is a Just Cable which allow you watch TV while you drive, not a TV module which has Audio/Video Inputs,
I can clearly see that doesn't even have Audio/Video Inputs, how did you expect it will provide stereo input? I see you have Hybrid Tuner, doesn't it have audio input but video input only? how about source selector? switch from TV to DVD Player or whatever is connected. anyway, try this. Get BMW Auxiliary Audio Input cable, something like this goes behind Nav screen. so you can access AUX mode. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-A...spagenameZWDVW and get Y-adapter, something like this, 2 RCA inputs + 1 1/8" Stereo Jack, http://rsk.imageg.net/graphics/produ...266317w345.jpg connect Y-Adapter to Aux input cable, connect your White and Red RCA cables from DVD player to Y-Adapter. now you should able to listen audio through AUX mode. Good Luck. |

I wanted it to alow me to chouse AUX as stereo audio source while watching Video (DVD or TV) I have AUX, and i know that i can have stereo sound from DVD while listening to AUX, but what i wanted is to have stereo sound watching video. The TV in motion cable does not have to have any audio inputs or so, what it has to do is to alow, or rather to send i-bus command on a push of a button to stay on video, but to switch to another audio source (AUX) That is what this is all about, I was under the impression since Tom said that i will get sound in Stereo instead of Mono, that i will be able to do that, but it is a no go. So this cable provides no more then a Navcoder would have done (Activate tv in motion) Tnx for help |
