im looking at installing a dsp amp in my x5 i heard the dsp in an 5 series and it sounded great!

dont get me wrong what i have now is nice but would also like the dsp options.

now my questions. my radio has just an audio button and no dsp button will i also have to replace my radio as well as the amp.

yes, you have to replace mid - radio head unit too.

Correction: you only have to replace the MID. The radio is the same for DSP and non-DSP cars.

The X5 and the E39 use the same MID, so you could source a used DSP-enabled MID from either car.
