DVD Questions X5 2005 4.8is

Hi Guys:

I just received my BMW X5 4.8is this week. I want to install the HeadRest BMW monitor and the DVD Player, I have some questions:

1) It is possible to have the same image of the headrest monitor in the front panel monitor?
2) Is the sound of the DVD player outputted by the Hi Fi Stereo System DSP, or it is only possible to hear it using the headphones ?

The point is that I want to have the option to hear, for example, a U2 Concert via the Hi Fi DSP system playing the DVD disc on the DVD Player and seeing on the front monitor also.

Otherwise I will not install any DVD option.

Thanks a lot.

What you are looking to do is very similar to the setup that Drex has in his 4.6is. See http://www.xoutpost.com/showthread.php?t=2782 for some details on tihs.

You'll want to install the BMW Aux input kit, and also the TVonNav system. The TVonNav system allows you to view the DVD on your front screen (which can also be displayed on the rear screens) and send the audio in full stereo through the factory sound system (with DSP, if you have it)

My TVonNav install info is here - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=30

:goodluck:
