IpodYourBMW and IceLink Question?

Hi friends:

I have a X5 4.8is with Hi Fi Premiun Sound System and DSP and also 6 CD Changer.

I had read that if I want to add an IPOD interface to the X5 I need to disconnect the 6 CD Changer. This is what I read in dension web page and in apple web page too.

I do not want to disconnect the 6 CD Changer, I just want to add a new option without discarding another one.

Have you heard something about this? Coudl you help me please.

It is possible to make a special connection and have both systems works at the same time. ?????

Thanks a lot.

nope. The Dension ipod system is by far the best, but replaces the CD Changer. You could likely build a manual switch (i think it's just 3 wires), to switch between the IceLink and the CD Changer.

I will add this. You won't miss the CdChanger, at all. I thought I would... but I actually have removed it all together. I have all my music on my ipod, why do i need the changer? I guess if you have a mini or a smaller ipod then I could understand.

Quite a bit more than this, the iBus on some vehicles can't handle the switching sometimes and can get confused.

Yes you can do what you ask if you install the BMW Aux input. Most people on this forum like the Dennison but like you I decided to keep my CD Changer and I happy with my choice because it gives me both worlds and I use them both. But here are your choices. http://www.xoutpost.com/html.php?file=ipod.htm
