Remote bass control

What's the simplest way to add a remote bass control to an amp? Is there such a gadget that will work with any amp? Thanks.

There are a couple of kinds, the most common being level control, and the others being EQ boost control.

If you get a line level attenuator knob you can run the RCA signal through it, if your amp doesn't offer the option.

The PAC LC1 is the exact solution that I was thinking of using, but the only concern I have is running long RCAs from the rear (OEM amp where I tap into) into the cabin (to mount the remote control), and then back to the rear again (location of the sub amp). Are there anything that can be place near the amp and only the control signals get routed to the remote...similar in concept to those amp that offers the remote control?

Thanks.

If you want to do that, your best option is to use a processor that has a remote control.

Phoenix Gold used to make an EQ/xover with their LPL44 knob as an option for sub level out. The EQ215X. I have one of the Ti versions on the shelf, display model. Kinda big, but good sounding.

But if you're not looking to go that route, then you are better off IMO finding an amp with that feature.

As always...thanks for your valuable information! What other smaller (in size) amp do you recommend that would have a remote control? I'm not looking for high power...just about 250W at 4 ohm.

The Genesis Profile Sub has about 300W at 4 ohms and has an optional bass control like you are referring to.

The JL e1400 has an optional control, as does the 500/1.
