E53 fin available to hide Sirius antenna?

Hi all,

This ties in with my last post re: the Sirius antenna. I have a 2005 X5 4.4, steel grey. I was told by the dealer that there is no "fin" available to enclose the sirius antenna. Is this really true? Anything I can do to hide it otherwise?

Thanks for the help,

Rob

I think I remember tambalolong having a shark fin added to his X, maybe check with him on where he got it from...

Maybe a search next time. Sorry, guys. I thought I searched on this, but I was looking in the wrong forum.

Looks like mounting the antenna inside the spoiler might be the best option. I found a lot of articles showing this. Thanks again.

Watch out, some have reported terrible reception after mounting in the spoiler.

Against better judgement I mounted my Sirius ant. on the hood center about 4 inches from the windshield using a flat magnetic ant. with an adhesive wire cover. It is barely noticable and I get fine reception - running the wire into the car was simple and it will be easy to remove if the day comes.

Do you have pics of this? Seems like it would be very noticable, so I would like to see yours.

I mounted my satrad antenna inside the spoiler, and highly recommend it.

This is my Sirius antennae mounted on the edge of my windshield - good reception and easy to remove in the future. Yes the car is filthy - upstate NY and the temp is 47 - nothing but mud.
