Help removing Business CD cover
1 Attachment(s)
I am in the middle of a custom install. It is an unusal install as I am placing aftermarket monitors in front of the Business CD player. I would like to hide the wires running from the monitors. I was thinking that if I can remove the cover from the CD player then I could route the wires into the dash. Note that I can't remove the player as I still need it for the factory system.
I tried to remove the cover but it appears that electronics are attached to it. Does anyone know if that is correct? Any suggestions on how to remove this cover? Attachment 31326 |
I got it off. There are two screws that hold it in place and then it just snaps off but you have to be very careful. There is a 4 pin connector on the cover for the buttons: eject, tone. The radio still works with the cover off. I will not be using the CD player for my custom install so I don't need to access it. However I need the CD player to stay there because it is required for the amp to turn on.
Well anyway, it worked out great for my custom install. I was able to run the wire through the openings on each side of the CD player totally out of sight. |

Well I thought I took pictures of the radio with the cover off, but I found nothing in the digital camera. The radio is now covered with Monitors so I can't get a quick pic. However, I need to adjust one of the monitors, maybe I can get some pictures of it when I do. It'll have to wait until tomorrow or Friday as I am getting the X detailed tomorrow so I don't want to disassemble the dash right now.
Here are some pics of the cover. Attachment 31876 Close up of pin connector. Attachment 31877 |
