how to install a new amp in my 03 x5 no DSP system? where do the wires go? please help !! thanks!!

Hi. Your question is very sparse. It would help if you gave us a little more info - what kind of amp, how you're planning on connecting it (to what speakers), etc.

My experience has been that the posts that seem to get the most detailed help are the ones that provide the most background information, and the posts that seem to be vague cries for "Help!" seem to be by people who shouldn't be installing their own gear anyway.

how about with two channel amp, just for subwoover..

If it is a cry for help then throw a life raft. Ease up and give some basic help to start. Perhaps more details will come. I'm one of those folks who don't know it all but I am perfectly capable of installing my own gear and I had the same question. Is there a central output to connect for a sub? If not then explain why, That would surly help me.

That's not the question you were asking. If he's asking for an amplifier installation manual, I can write one (in fact, I have), but I'd rather not if that's not what he needs.

If installing a SUB amp in a non-DSP system that has no rear subwoofers, and the amp has speaker level inputs (NONE of which I know about this guy's system, BTW) then I would go to the OEM amp and find the F speaker wires and tap into them.

If the amp doesn't have speaker level inputs then I would use an LOC like the Soundgate LOCHVA. You can tap the preamp wires between the HU and the amp, but I don't think it's worth it for just a bass amp.

For power and ground i'd go straight to the battery. You can also find a remote wire at the OEM amp if you have a voltmeter.

I would find the F speaker wires by using a voltmeter and fading all the way forward and finding the wires that still have voltage, but lose voltage when faded rearwards, and that are speaker and not preamp wires. If you want colors, they're around here somewhere.
