Steering wheel volume control

I have a odd issue with the down volume button on my steering wheel controls. Occasionally, when I turn down the volume, it will jump to the next track. This happens on both the iceLink and the CD Player. Nayone have any thoughts?

thx

Happens to me once a month. I overlook it, we all make mistakes sometimes. If it's a more frequent problem, you may need to get the contacts looked at on that wheel.

:iagree: mine also does this once in a blue moon, so I don't sweat it.
Interestingly, my wife's Chrysler Town & Country did the same thing :dunno:

My '04 does it too. it is bone stock and still does this....hmm... Wish there was a simple fix. I guess I will have to bring it up to the dealer next time I am in there.

Mine does this as well, I was searching the forums and this is the only thread...

It seems to be a bit of a widespread issue, does anyone have an update? I'd rather get a fixable answer here than have the dealer give me an expensive answer.

Thanks.

Dismantle steering wheel and check / clean contacts, or replace switch pad for the problematic buttons. Easy. Cheap.

Honestly, it is a programming issue.... All the buttons on that side of the steering wheel send thier signal down the same wire, I rewired and programed mine to work with an aftermarket Alpine deck. I have a few times where I will vol/track up/dn or mute and it will send two signals instead of once.... (meaning if I hit the mute, it will mute and un-mute). so if it is something that constantly happends, you could probably get it fixed. otherwise, probably no correction for it
