Where do you tap in a Sub Amp on a NON-DSP?
Ok I have searched for hours, watch BSW's video and read a the manual It gives great clarity of the DSP install but where I get lost is where do you tap in for the input connection? and do you need a line output connector?
Im green at audio install but not a bonehead so any info would help |
I just did mine recently I have the non navi non dsp setup. If your sub amp doesnt have high level inputs (speaker wires directly into it not needeing rca plugs) then yes you will have to use a line output converter to connect the rca plugs..You need to tap into the rear left and rear right speakers. I used this post to find the wires http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/pr...em_Non_DSP.pdf
my amp is the alpine mrp m850 it has hi-level and rca inputs.. I chose to use the high level.. look at page 5 of 12 of the pdf for your answer. this is the factory amp connector. Blue w/Black Stripe (+) twisted with Brown w/Orange Stripe (-) -Yellow w/Black Stripe (+) twisted with Brown w/Orange Stripe (-)also this post in the diy http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...ctory-amp.html will tell you which wires are which |
If you are looking for some pictures, I have quite a few of my sub install on my site.
