OEM E53 ipod connection , possible ?
 

hello everybody
i was at dealership ( in saudi ) today to check if it possible to have OEM ipod connection .
the hardware will cost 350 us$ without installation charges
is it worth it ?
am i going to have full iphone 4 control ?

No. You will not get full control. Only aux audio. Consider DICE Mediabridge or IntraveeII+KCA 420

would i keep the DSP after using the DICE Mediabridge or IntraveeII+KCA 420 ?

Yes with one issue. You must find out about the DSP and digital audio. Some DSP cars use digital audio to the amplifier. In that case you might need a special DSP version of Mediabridge/IntraveeII.

I do not know hte exact answer, and I do not know how the digital audio works. Maybe SPDIF audio from BMW CD Changer (Or MB1500/IVee II) to DSP amplifier. I don't know. Try google.

If you want full control of the iPhone4 I recommend the DICE Mediabridge. You need to post your year/model X5 so we may determine if you have digital or analog DSP. If it is digital DSP you will need a converter for an additional 80 USD. I have the Mediabridge, and I don't use the iPhone4 but it works very well with my Android phone.
