Stereo security code
I need to disconnect the battery of my 2006 X5 in order to install a Dension Icelink +. Will I need to enter a security code to get the stereo unit working when the batery is hooked back up? If yes, any idea where I find the code? Thanks.

I (and others) did disconnet the battery.. just make sure the headunit is powered off and the key is off

Mine is on a card in the owners manual booklet

I have a 2006 with the standard radio and I just installed a new IceLink via the CD changer input in the trunk. I did not have to disconnect the battery. Just plug it into the changer cables, turn on the ignition and it works.
And btw, there is no radio security code for standard radio on the newer X5's. Not sure about DSP or NAV. |
There's no security code with the nav radio module.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry about disconnecting the battery just to install the IceLink. Just my 2 cents. |

If someone would scan their fuse card, it would be a great addition to the forum. I can use a copy as well (hint hint). |
