05 X5 Nav with ipod integration

I just bought 05 X5 with Nav. I asked dealer and service there is no ipod integration when I get Nav. Since Nav delete CD player. It really sucks. Is there a way to integrate ipod with Nav? I don't have DSP stereo.

Sure, check out the Ice>Link Plus system from Dension - http://www.dension.com/main.php?pageid=50&topid=42

It gives you even better integration than BMW's iPodYourBMW solution, as it can display song track id's on the nav screen (or in the mid if you don't have nav), which BMW's solution cannot.

I am still confused with this. I have an '05
Premium Sound
DSP
CD Changer
Navagation.

Would love to be able to hook up my iPod direct into the head unit. No stereo place here in Tampa I've tlked to seems to know how to do this install!

What exactly do you want to do?

If all you want is to pipe the audio output from the iPod into the head unit then what you want is the BMW Aux Input Kit. Look at the main page http://www.xoutpost.com/ in the STEREO section, item 19 for the installation instruction for this. Once this unit has been installed you will have an additional item on your menu called "AUX" as you cycle through the "MODE" button (you currently have radio, tape and CD as options). While in AUX it will take the input and pipe through the head unit. You can press presets 1 through 6 to adjust the input gain to the head unit. Note that with this setup you will need to change tracks via the iPod itself. The only steering wheel control that is function using AUX is the volume.

On the other hand, if you want complete integration into your system, including steering wheel control of the tracks and display of the song tags on your nav display, then the solution I referenced above is what you want to check out.

how hard is it to install ice>Link Plus on X5? Where can I get instruction?

It is real easy to install. What I did is actually phone up Dension - told them exaclty what my car's "config" was and they sent out the unit to me.

The most difficult part of the installation was getting switched power to the radioshack convertor. Once that was done the whole system is plug and play.
After that routing the cable to the front console takes about 15-20 mins. I had to drill a small hole in the cup holder area in order to get the actual cable in, but apart from that it really is easy to install.

I have an 01 X5 with DSP and Nav.
