Help with Hi-Fi center channel speaker

Hello all,

Second post to Xoutpost, great resource.

I am upgrading the Hi-Fi system in my 2009 diesel X5 and I'm not sure what to do with the center channel. I have a four channel amp for the front and rear doors figured out, and I think I figured out the under seat subs, (thanks to El Duderino)... what I'm not sure is should I keep the center channel, or not? If so any recommendations about how to interface it into the rest of the system?

Oh by the way I think I have the speakers ready to go, with the exception of the center one as well.

Thanks.

I did upgrade my 2012 x5d with stage one upgrade, unfortunately no sound in rear speakers, 1k down the drain;(

Sorry to hear about the rear speakers... did your X5 have them in the first place, or were you trying to add them?

I've collected some MB Quart gear over the past few years.. so I think I'll use it for my X5 system... except the subs, the Earthquake 8" shallow subs seem to be a great option.

Components in the front doors, co-ax's in the rear doors, the Earthquake subs... and still undecided about the center channel... that's what I'm trying to do. Probably run a separate amp for the subs too.

how much budget you guys are allocating to upgrade this shitty system?

I'm sorry that your upgrade didn't work out for you... but I believe the factory system I have in my '09, (Hi-Fi), isn't that bad. I have owned vehicles that have had much worse in them. If you install yourself, then I think 1 - 1.5K would build you a decent system, by anyone's standards... if you need to have it installed, then probably closer to 2.5K. Probably a lot lower, if you like Craigslist. Mostly depends on what type of music you like... and what you want it to sound like.

I know one thing for sure... trying out a couple of options, can really help you decide on what you like... and what you don't.
