Turn OFF the sub woofer 04-x5

Hi guys, Looked everywhere but can't find an answer.

I want to turn my factory sub off when I have people in the back seat. Even with the fader turned full front it seems the rear sub is still thumping and its really annoying when in the back.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

turn the bass down via EQ? you might even be able to store a preset for this...
I wouldn't think the 'fader' would work...

unplug it - there is a black connector with round pins (like the one used for the trailer hook-up)... to get to it, you need to get to the plastic trim on the right, pull the trim off and it will expose the bottom of the subwoofer, and then just use your fingers to "pinch" the connector latches to unplug it... it will not affect the operation of the amp, or throw any codes - just like it never was even there...

Thanks, I considered that but was hoping for a simpler solution. This however might be the only option. If I go this route I'll add a switch to the line so I can just open the side panel in the cargo are and flip it.

i think there are 3 or 4 wires there - the sub has two speakers...

Old thread, I know...but, I think you must be the only person in the world that thinks the stock sub 'thumps'. Sensitive ears I guess! Are you sure you don't have an aftermarket sub back there?
