Nav Voice Too Loud...Suggestions?

So I had a local shop (not a BB or CC type) install a set of front speakers, a sub, and two amps in my wife's '03 X5 working with the stock head unit. The oem system is nav, non-dsp.

Two issues we have are:

1. The nav voice is very loud even when the stereo is turned down. I tried to adjust the nav volume level, but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Has anyone run into an issue like this, or have any idea what needs to be done to correct it?

2. The front amp (maybe the sub too) is not shutting off when the head unit is turned off. I had family visiting this past weekend, and driving around with the HU off, I could still hear the amp was on. Shouldn't an install with the stock h/u power down the amp when the h/u is turned off?

I wanted to get some feedback before calling the shop.

Thanks,
Ryan

The nav voice should be an easy fix...look in the articles section under the nav section and look for absolute nav volume. Follow the instruction. The amp should also be a easy fix if the installer will double check the remote wire running from the amp to the head unit. Sounds like the wire is not corrected properly.........Phil

Thanks Phil. My wife is much happier to not have her car screaming at her to take a turn. I've looked through lots of the articles, but didn't think to look again when this problem popped up.

I cranked the settings both down to min, and hopefully it is low enough. It seems to be, but I hate not having some wiggle-room.

Thanks,
Ryan
