varification of what model of GPS system

Hi guys ! I did manipulation from the screen of SETTINGS ( to varify what hardware and software I have on X5 2003 4.4 ) and at the right corner I can read
- L : DE14 CRI 12.07.02
and likelly I can not find needful paragraff what the heck it meens ?
So I can't moove forward to upgrade software itself.
What is the best moove to varify...before stealer option ?
( I did download of v24 and v.26 and have a discs ...that was an easy part !)

What you have is the original V20. The early production MK4 units on the 2003's were shipped with 4-1/10 from the factory at the start (from 09/02 to 10/02) but this version had some known bugs and therefore BMW put the text "T20.10" on the splash screen as a dealer reminder to upgrade with the V20.1 CD when available.

You are definately due for an update!!

Dear friend ! If so downloaded v24 (v.26 too) by me and burned on the disk could work perfectly if I understood it right. And I can without special risk to stick it in tray of the unit? Which one of them ?
Or may be better not to create a headace and bring car to the dealer ( it is still on warranty 41k on it) and let him to do the dangerouse job? What the interesting part ( I hate it !) they never perform anything in service , unless you tell them what should be done.

Did you write it with alcohol 120% software? If so, just put it in the DVD reader in the back of your trunk.

You can either go to your dealer and ask them to update your nav system or you can do it yourself. The safest route is to have the dealer do it. But doing it yourself is not that hard. You definately want to update, though, as you are running on a version that was only meant to be a temporary release until a more stable version was made available. We are now 7 releases past that.

Dear friend ! Yes indeed "T20.10" on the splash screen at the moment I open the driver door. And I did downloaded v.24 and wrote down on CD with alcohol.
The sujested instructions is not difficult to follow. It was funny ..yesterday I was in and out of the car but still there was not time to do the thing.
Is v.24 my gol ? Or other one ?
