Splash screen question
Firstly, big thanks to Tino (2wires) for helping me sort out my navboot file.
I have uploaded my modified V27 software with an Alpina logo (care of Appy) and it all works as it should except that the splash screen no longer comes on when I open the driver's door. Is it likely that this is because the custom splash screen is about 90kB whereas the original BMW is about 11kB? |
If you pull your modified navboot file back up in the gifextractor tool, do you see the new splash screen logo in the same place as the original logo?
|
Yes I do. The modofied splash screen does come up when you put the key in the ignition to position 1.

The splash screen shows up the first time the car door is open. The Ibus/Naigation computer then have to go to sleep for approx 5-10mins and then reset. It's only then that the splash will display again.
If you open the door for the first time and then immediately open again it will not show. |
Hi beedeeman,
I know that the nav drive has to turn off before the splash screen will show again. If I leave the car for a period of time, the splash screen does not come up until I turn the key. |
I used a 50 to 60Kb custom splash screen file and it comes on with the opening of the drivers door.

@UCrewX5 is correct that the file size doen't matter. |
I'm running a 43kb splash screen and I notice that nav system needs a few seconds to load the screen when I open the door. It takes about 15 seconds or so, where before it was instant. I hope that helps.

All, cheers for the help, I think it is the loading time as it has appeared today when I open the door and looks great. Makes me want wait a while and then sit in the car not starting it :) :)
Thanks again all. |
Actually, it'll stay untill you close the door or as you stated if you start the car.
