V27 killed my TMC....
 

anybody had this trouble? TMC was ok before I put on V27, now its gone and I am unable to select it in any menu.

I caught a Spanish chat link stating a similar problem although I cant understand it all.

For you US chaps; TMC = traffic message channel, used in the EU, it receives traffic news via the FM radio and displays any hot spot on screen on the map.

TMC appeared to be OK on mine after I installed V27 - however I reverted back to V26-3D hacked version as I don't like what V27 has done to the location info.

Do you get any TMC indicator on the bottom status line? Is it Green or Red or Grey or missing?

When I updated to V27 TMC needed reselecting, think its in the main nav menu.

im not 100% sure but i think v27 might have killed my MKIV no longer reads any disk :(

are U using A Navteq 2006-2 version DVD or earlier ?

was using 2005-1 but it doesnt accept any disk plus it is now stuck inside the dvd drive and I have no option for navigation on widescreen display

@Bradmax: try pressing the eject button like crazy. This happens sometimes but should not. Keeping pushing. Try holding the button or push it fast and often. If you get the disc out, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes this helps sometimes with eletronic trouble.

Regarding TMC & V27: the TMC is not "broken", it just has to be reassigned in the setup menu of the radio. Happened to me as well.

mine works ok has done since install I am running 2005 disk and TMC works too

Thanks for that, unfortunately it went into the BMW stealer yesterday to be told it was "broken" lol i bet they tried it it didnt work so they thought I know lets take that one off him and charge himm £855+vat to put a reconditioned one in lol!!!!

Bought another off ebay with a 2006-1 dvd aswell for less that half that amount, already v27 so fingers crossed

I have a dual tuner BM24 radio how do I get into the setup mode?

The TMC is not gone it is just disabed due to the software update. Maybe you are the unlucky exeption but I do not believe that.

The following menu "names" are my translations from German so it must not be 100% what you see on your screen.

In the standard navi setup menu you should have an entry "Traffic information". In this menu you find a point "RDS-TMC". Here you can activate this option again. Below in the same menu you fin "No traffic info" for disabling TMC.

It should just be disabled. BM24 should work the same in case it got TMC option already. Early BM24 do not support that option.
