i have BMW 540i 1998, with the small screen can i install the MK4 without any additional cables(just remove the mk2 then install mk4 drive?

Yes, I believe so. You need to also remove the stand-alone GPS reveiver (the MkIV has this built in) and plug the antenna cable directly into the back of the MkIV.

Some early 1998 model year cars had the MKI navigation system, which had a slightly different trunk cable. It is still pretty easy to upgrade to a MKIV from a MKI, but it is not direct plug-and-play. Does your nav have the male voice or the female voice?

first of all thatnk you all guy for your reply, my nav is female voice, and where is the mk's reciver isnt the cd or the dvd rom? i have a middle east DVD for rangrover 2005 model, and i like the new computer of bmw, it anyone can help me to upgrade my car for that, whats parts i need and can i find it used and cheapper in your country guys? PLS its a help and thanks again ...:)
