i have a mkIII v27 widescreen sat nav in my e39 525 51 plate. on ebay the guy i bought a updated map from and v27 disc before i know about this site says i should have postcode search on my satnav i cant find it can anyone help. this is my first post so hello to everybody on this site!!!!

With the MkIV, here in the U.S. we didn't have search by postcode (zip code) until the Navteq 2006.2 disk was released. This seems to work with both V26 and V27.

When you enter the City search you can now enter a 5 digit postal code in lieu of the city name.

ok if i buy a dvd nav can i just plug it into the old mkIII plugs and it will all work i.e 3d view etc

yes, going from a MkIII to a MkIV is a simple plug-n-play swap of the nav drive.
